Nicholson Portnell offers professional advice and support if you are going through separation or divorce. We adhere to the Resolution code of practice which aims to resolve issues by taking into account the needs of the whole family and in particular the needs of any children. We can advise you on all issues involving children, divorce proceedings and financial matters. We can also prepare cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements tailored to your particular needs.We offer an initial 20 minute meeting free of charge to discuss your individual situation and the processes available to you. At that meeting we will advise whether legal aid is available to pay for the cost of your case. If you are a victim of domestic violence we can make an application to the court on an emergency basis for injunction orders to protect you and members of your family from an abusive partner.
We will do all we can to help you reach a fair and just outcome as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. While we have extensive expertise in dealing with matters through the courts we will only use that approach as a last resort, after exhausting all alternative strategies that may be less confrontational and more cost-effective
